The Becket Bend, what is it?
The Becket Bend is a simple and easy to tie knot that can be used to tie two ropes together temporarily. It works best with ropes that are a bit thicker. They shouldn't vary to much in diameter.
Remarks
We are showing you the slipped variant of the Becket Bend. This makes it easy to untie with a simple pull on the working end.
The official name for this knot is the Becket Hitch. It looks the same as the sheet bend, but a real Becket hitch is tied to an eye splice instead of a loop or bight.
